Every new year, we try to set goals for the coming 12 months. When you own your own business, there has to be a good work-life balance to truly put your best foot forward to be able to give your best self to both worlds. Work-life balance will be my constant yearly goal.
I want to start by saying I am deeply grateful for the incredible couples, families, and individuals who entrusted me with capturing their most meaningful moments this year. From intimate elopements and unforgettable weddings to helping fellow business owners bring their branding visions to life, every experience has been a privilege. I’ve also cherished clients who return year after year to document their milestones. Your trust and loyalty and referrals mean the world to me!
Community is one of the driving forces that keeps me grounded and happy in life. As an only child (not the spoiled kind, I promise!), I grew up surrounded by a big, loud, loving Greek family. With my mom being one of 10 siblings and my dad having two, I lost count of how many cousins I have! Every gathering was a joyful, boisterous celebration with way too much food—just the way I like it. Since moving away, I’ve worked hard to recreate that sense of connection with my chosen community. From the incredible friends I’ve made to the couples and families I’ve had the honor of photographing, each of you feels like part of my extended family. You’ve all brought so much joy and positivity into my life, and for that, I am endlessly grateful.
Here's a look back at some of my favorite moments in photography from 2024
And a step into some personal joy this past year:
CreativeMornings Baltimore has fed my soul in all the ways I need it to. I have been volunteering with the team for over 2 years now. I sometimes photograph the events, but mainly, I help with our social media presence. I make the reels and post the posts. Attending the events Is something I truly look forward to every single month, even though I have to wake up an hour earlier than usual. Here are some quick highlights from the crew!
Here are some firsts that made it into 2024:
We went to watch SUMO! And I got to eat at one of my favorite DC restaurants the same night, Maketto The sumo was so fun, and we got to learn so much about its history; they even called on a few audience members to try it out.
My friend and I have been going on yearly friend trips, and this year, we went to Montreal, Canada. It was our first time checking this city out. We had to walk up the Grand Staircase of Mount Royal (398 steps) to see that city skyline view. And the food did not disappoint! I also got to try another Michelin-star restaurant while there, Joe Beef. While researching food before heading to Montreal, I kept reading about how much better the bagels were in Montreal than in NYC. They were good but better, na. I read in Bon Appetit about this AMAZING $5 gnocchi place Drogheria, and it was delicious! I could eat that gnocchi every day. But those Parisian pastries were the best desserts I have had in a very long time. They were from Ô Petit Paris!
Babe and I explored Thomas, West Virginia, on the way back from photographing a wedding, and the boutique hotel Dandy Flats was so beautiful. LOOK AT THAT TINY SINK. I wanted to take it home with us. Also, I was highly impressed by this random cute town that gave more Austin vibes than West Virginia. Right next to the hotel was a cafe shop, Tip Top Coffee & Bakery, and probably some of the best tacos I've had in a while. The taco place is moving to a new location, but if you ever get to try Picnic Taco, you have to do it.
I also was a guest at a friend's wedding! It was really nice getting to enjoy a wedding from the other side for a change, also at one of my favorite wedding venues, Mt. Washington Mill- Dye House. I think I've lost sight of the number of weddings I've photographed there.
These were just a few of the highlights from this past year, and I couldn’t be more grateful. As I look ahead to 2025, my hope is to keep growing my community and strengthening my business. I’m excited to continue attracting couples whose love for each other shines so brightly it’s impossible to miss. More than anything, I want to keep creating memories while capturing them for others—a true privilege I never take for granted. I hope you have a beautiful end and beginning to the year!
